Friday Daydreamin':

Yay!! It's Friday! And this momma is ready to Daydream!! LInk up your favorite vacation photos with R We There Yet Mom's Friday Daydreamin'!!

While in NYC 2 weeks ago, we had the opportunity to visit the 9/11 Memorial, one week after it opened.  It was incredibly breathtaking.  It was moving.  It was hopeful & optimistic.

The 2 footprints of the buildings are encased with these beautiful tributes - every person who perished that day is inscribed on them.

I doubted myself, adding this picture to my "daydream", yet I was so incredibly proud after I left the site, that I wanted to share that with all of you.  As sad as it is to be at the site where all of these incredibly brave men & women were lost, you can't help but feel proud of this incredible tribute to them.  It is a reminder that we should never forget what happened on that day in September, 10 years ago.

Join the linky party - post your favorite vacation pictures for everyone to see and link up.  Then grab a cup of coffee and start day dreamin away!

That would be awesome to see. It's sad it exists- but is an awrsome tribute to all those who died

Very moving. I'm glad they finished it. I daydream that it never happened in the first place, but what an experience for you to be there and see it.

The first glimpse I had of the memorial was the anniversary memorial service this past year. It is a beautiful and somber memorial for those who's lives were lost. Much better than some of the other crazy ideas they had throwing around in the beginning.

Someday, when I go to NYC, I want to see this. There is just, I don't know, something amazing and special in places like this. Sad and moving. Profound. I think everyone should experience something like that, at least once in their lives.

Thanks for that picture. It is moving.

I've only been to NY once & it was only for a night because a flight got cancelled. I so wish I would have made it part of my trip. Just walking down the street you can feel the energy of it. I loved the pictures & you were so right to share them. It is a sad tragic thing but such a beautiful tribute & a great reminder at how amazing & heroic people can be.
