Momma & Her Girl

This past weekend, I finally got to share one of my obessions with Sissy. My love of Broadway musicals. 3 years ago, I had the pleasure of seeing Wicked on Broadway. I had no idea what it was about, but knew that the reviews had been fantastic for it. Both Matt & I LOVED It!! I was hooked- bought the CD and listened to it in the car everywhere we went.
My little girl in the car surprised me one day, singing " Pop-U-Lar. You're gonna be POP- U-EW-LAR!!" Which is an adorable song form the show. We were both hooke don the music of this fantastic musical.
2 years ago, I took my mom to see it in NYC. Sissy was not happy that I didn't take her too. So FINALLY, I had the chance this weekend. We went with a few friends from the neighborhood and had a ball. Sissy was hopping up & down on her set when her favorite song came on!! She was singing right along with all the words!! She was so excited to be there.

I'm so happy I got to share something I really love with her. My only hope is that when she is 16, she still will want to do fun things like this with her mom!!

I love, love, love Wicked. Went with a bunch of girlfriends a year or so ago and loved every second of it. These types of things are what keep me popular with my friends who have girls.....Miss Keri is good at borrowing girls for some fun!

BTW, you look really, really great!

I haven't seen it yet! One of my fondest childhood memories was seeing Evita in L.A. with my mom. I love that you got to do this with her.

Awe, how great for the both of you to enjoy together! I saw Mama Mia with my mom a few years ago and just loved seeing it with her. Growing up, I went to many with her and my grandparents and wasn't always thrilled, I just didn't say anything. Now, I love them!

So great! My mom, mother-in-law and brother's boyfriend and I all went this spring. It was such a great memory!

And I always loved doing things with my mother, even as a teenager. So it is possible!

What a fun, fun memory for you all! You are such a great Mom, and I'm sure that Miss M will always (okay, MOST of the time) want to do stuff with you! So glad you got to share this with her. Isn't it fun to have growing-up girls?!

That's great! I'm hoping to take my daughter to see Mary Poppins when it comes to Dallas this fall. She's never seen a broadway play.

What a great mother-daughter thing to do together! I love musicals, too, and went several times when we lived near DC without kids. I'll have to make more of an effort to go again sometime!!
