Happy Birthday America!!
It was an awesome, hometown, community day for us - started with a parade downtown.I got chill bumps seeing the community honor our fallen heroes.
Morganne and I were on a float handing out bags for the Shop the Rock campaign. Waldo was with us and kept hiding in the crowds - can you spot him?
That afternoon, we headed out to Old Settlers Park for the annual Frontier Days - where we saw the Sam Bass Shootout. They re-enact the famous gunfight that killed the outlaw Sam Bass. And one of our sweet friends was a Saloon Girl for the Shootout!
Afterwards, we played a bit - because nothing says 4th of July like a romp in a hamster ball, right?
There's that cute Saloon Girl!
We put down chairs & blankets and played football, ladderball, cornhole and ate buckets of fried chicken and ice cold watermelon- it was so American.
That evening, we watched the skydiving show - even our mayor skydived in!Hi Five Mayor McGraw!
And later listened to the Austin Symphonic Band play some great patriotic songs.
And enjoyed some fro-yo waiting for the fireworks.
The guys had set our chairs up perfectly - the fireworks went off right over us.
It was a pretty fun day - all of us enjoyed it - All-American Style.
