May 15, 2009:
So we sit here at 2 weeks. 2 weeks before little Bubba is due to join our little family. How do I feel? Apprehensive. Excited. Anxious. Tired. Worried. Pretty typical right? Except I have all these feelings wrapped up around how this is going to play out. When will I go into labor? If it is 3 am, how on earth can I call someone to come & watch M & J?? and horrors......What if this is false labor?? How do I know it is the real thing???
Sunday night I was so sure I was in labor. I sat though our wonderful Mother’s Day dinner grimacing at each contraction. Granted, I have been having Braxton Hicks for weeks, but these were so much more intense and wrapped around my whole body. I was up from 3 am to 5 am with contractions that ranged from 8 to 20 mins apart. Nothing regular, but definite hard contractions that kept me awake. I said a little prayer to God that he not allow these to progress until I got my kids off to school at 7 am because I just couldn't bear the thought of having to wake someone to come over only to be told I was in false labor. Well, God answered my prayers. Everything fizzled out and at my regular appointment later that morning, my sweet OB tells me that I “haven’t progressed since last week.” It was enough to make me burst into tears. And I need to retract my comment about him being sweet...he could have at least fibbed a little bit....
So after having a little pity party for myself yesterday, I got over it. I totally need to realize that I have way too much going on this week to have a baby...I just can’t fit it into my schedule this week. Where would you fit having a baby in?
PTA end-of-year mixer
M’s parent/teacher conference
M’s end-of-season soccer swim party
2 early release days
making dog biscuits for Market Day at school for M
J’s cast removal (yeah!)
Bunco (double yeah!!)
J’s end-of-season soccer swim party
M’s Brownie swim party
Yes, way too much. I think I’d like to fit in my pre-natal massage I got for Mother’s Day and a pedicure (so I can have sparkling toes when I give birth) in somewhere too. I think the baby can come sometime next week. The 18th sounds good- a special day in our sweet friends lives!!
Ok, Ok. I know it is all on God’s timing, which is why I have to give it up to him and quit stressing over the “whens” and the “hows” and just let him do his thing. That is when our lives seems to flow the smoothest....when we give up control and give it all back to God.
So, I will stop whining. I will stop boring you with my endless postings on Baby (until the sweet baby is here of course). I will reflect on what is good about being uncomfortable and in pain and achy and tired....oh sorry (so easy to revert to complaining.....).
Thanks for hanging in there with me. I truly appreciate all the love and support I have received from you...my family and friends in bloggy land!
Even when I am NINE MONTHS PG I was slammed busy!!! Not much has changed a year later, except I have this beautiful baby to love on.......
