WWTKW - Kiss & Tell??

It's Wednesday and time for another We Want To Know Wednesday with my IRL friends, Seriously Shawn & Impulsive Addict and a few iFriends, Mamarazzi & Janette.

Photobucket
WWTKW is a great distraction from what you should be doing on Wednesday - for me, as I am in Illinois for a few weeks and not at home, WWTKW doesn't take me away from much more than swimming, playing cards with the kids, reading, playing with Bubba, eating, oh you get the drift.......

Anyways, I need to get back into the bloggy world after a wonderful week off at the beach, so WWTKW is a great way to do that.

IA asked a few fun questions this week, so here we go:

{1} What was the last thing you searched for online?
I feel like I search for things online constantly.  With my MacBook and iPhone always so close, the world is literally at your fingertips.  Yesterday alone I searched for cute baby shower favor ideas, wedding reception song ideas, New York City hotel reviews, and the creamy jalapano dip dressing (Cuz I can't go 5 weeks with out my beloved Chuy's).
But last night, as the kids and I started our "Countdown to the Last Harry Potter Movie Marathon", I looked up an actor on IMDB to see if he had been in anything else - he hadn't.  random much?

{2} If we visit your home state, what is one thing we MUST do before leaving?
Well, it fairly obvious that I am from Texas - ahem, the best state in the US.  And there are so many must do's in Texas, the Alamo, the Riverwalk, the Hill Country, hanging out on South Congress in downtown Austin, or NASA in Houston.  Hmmm......but what MUST you do?
Have some amazing BBQ - many states claim to have the "best" BBQ, but nothing tops the smoky tang of Texas BBQ - that's beef y'all.  And no one smokes it better.  Trust me.

{3} What do you think pharmaceutical companies should invent a pill for that isn't on the market yet?
Many of you know that I worked for a major pharmaceutical company for over 13 years, so I saw up close & personal the amount of work it takes to get a product to market - for every 1000 compounds that get discovered/created, maybe one or two actually make it to market.
So, forgive me for taking a serious approach to this question, but I want to see more products that stop, slow, or completely reverse heart disease.  Heart Disease is the number one killer. Number One.  We need to eliminate it.

{4} When was your first kiss?  Was it good or bad?
6th grade.  With a boy I thought was that cats meow - can't even remember his name and quite honestly, can't even remember the kiss.  it was that memorable.
My first kiss that knocked my socks off?  My first kiss with my sweet honey - I'll never forget that moment - nuff said.

{5} What is your guilty pleasure tv show that you can not miss?
I have always enjoyed the Real Housewives shows, but the RH of New Jersey took it to a new level and this season does not disappoint.  Why is Melissa & Joe so mean to Teresa?  Where do they come up with all that $$$? Is Teresa really that much of a nimwit?  It's total trash but it makes me laugh at the over-the-top superficiality.  And I dig it.

Thanks for the fun questions ladies.

And if I can ask one last favor - I am currently working on a new blog about family travel, which features family trips, tips, and great ideas submitted by the experts in traveling with family - you!! I would love for you to take a moment and check it out, become a follower, come back often, and if you are so lead, submit a story or two of your favorite vacation?

And, if you are a facebooker, Like our page to get updates on new travel posts.

Lastly, if you did the Twitter, follow us:

WWTKW - School's Out!

It's Wednesday and I desperately need to be cleaning house, but instead I find myself answering random questions posted from my sweet friend, Impulsive Addict, in the We Want to Know Wednesday challenge:

Photobucket
And the random questions are......
{1} If the blogging world had a talent show, what would your act be?
No talent - no singing, dancing, funniness, etc. But that's ok cause I can do the below talent.

{2} What's the most likely reason you'd become famous?
Cause I have MAD SKILZ makin fun movies like this:

(insert shameless self-promotion here...I am making some great one's for Father's Day - check out our special at Darling Memories www.darlingmemoriesdvd.com)

{3} What question are you repeatedly asked that you are tired of hearing?
My last name is Darling. And I hear about it all the time - I don't get tired of hearing the questios, but some of them are really stupid:
Wow, is that really your last name? No, I made it up.  As in Peter Pan? Yes, we purposely named ourselves after a Disney cartoon.  I bet you get a lot of jokes about that, huh Darlin'? Ha!  That's a good one - no one has ever called me "Darlin'". And my favorite.....Did you marry your hubby for his name?  Yeah.  I did.

{4} What's the last thing you broke?
I tend to break thing very easily because I try to "juggle" too much at once - for example, last week I forgot to make cupcakes for a soccer party, so I had to run to the cvs for cupcake mix & frosting, only to get home and have not cupcake liners - borrowed some from a good friend, made then all nice and pretty only to drop the baby's diaper bag on top of them when I got to the party.  #storyofmylife

{5} Finish this sentence: I can't believe I used to _______.
Work full time and still be a momma.  I spent yesterday from 8-4:30 interviewing 8 candidates for the principal position at our elementary school (which was a huge honor to be asked in of itself).  It was a long, tedious, exhausting day.  I came home and didn't want to move from the couch.  I am sure if I did it everyday, I'd be used to it, but I can't say that I'd want to be - I had no energy to cook dinner, give the baby a bath, or even watch tv - I was a slug - so mad props to all my hard workin' momma friends - I don't miss it........

Well, thanks for the distraction IA.  Take a moment to visit my other friends, Shawn, Mamarazzi, & Janette - creators of this fun Wednesday distraction activity.  Have a great rest of the week!

WWTKW - 2 weeks of school left!!!

Hello friends - the countdown is on here in Texas - 2 weeks and 3 days of school left and they couldn't go any faster.  I am so looking forward to school being out - I have so much fun with my kiddos home in the summer.   We have tons of fun planned this summer!!  Bubba & I can't wait.

But, to get me through another Wednesday, it's time to play......

Photobucket

Nothing to post about today?  Link up with Impulsive Addict, Janette, Mamarazzi, & Seriously Shawn for another great week of questions.  Here we go!

{1} What game show have you always thought you could be on and totally win?
I love, love, love the Amazing Race - it is a reality show/game that qualifies - I seriously have dreams about making it on this show - hubby & I love to travel and we'd make an AWESOME bickering, yet loving couple for the show- seriously, if I could find someone to pay hubby's salary and watch our kiddos for a month, we'd totally go for it.  Any takers?

{2} Do you have a tattoo(s)?  What are they and what made you choose them?  If not, would you get one, yes/no/why?
No tats.
Won't get one.
Don't like them - for me personally.  (for all my friends out there with tats - don't take this personally, I just don't want one for me)
Hubs has 5 and they don't bother me at all - I just don't want one. K?

{3} What is your favorite piece of jewelry that you own?
That is a tie between my Tag Heuer watch & a diamond necklace hubby gave me when I turned 30.  Both are incredibly sentimental to me - When I started in Corporate America, many of my co-workers had Tags and getting one for me was a sign that I was successful - not just in business, but life - I love it and wear it daily.  The necklace was a gift at my 30 birthday party (many, many years ago) from my husband - 3 simple diamonds on a platinum strand - Matt presented it to me with a sweet, loving speech that brought tears to my eyes.  I think about that moment every time I put it on.

{4} What is your driving pet peeve?
Texas has crappy drivers.  No - not "texas".  DFW has crappy drivers - if you dare put your blinker on to change lanes, the person in the lane you want to go to speeds up and doesn't let you over.  Seriously.  It's like some unwritten rule up there.  So, you just don't use your blinker and swerve over - sounds safe, right?

{5} What was your favorite sitcom growing up that you wish was still on?
I loved TV growing up - so much that my parents used to make me pick 5 hours that I could watch a week.  Man, that was hard and that was before we had 250 channels and dvrs!!  Between Silver Spoons, Different Strokes, Family Ties, & The Cosby Show, my hours were eaten up FAST.

The sitcom that sticks out to me the most was Different Strokes.  What you talkin 'bout Willis? OHHHH My Dad HATED this show - he felt it taught me how to back talk (couldn't have been cause I was a pre-teen huh?) One time, in an attempt to get me to stop watching DS, he made me write a 500 word essay on why I thought watching Different Strokes was good.  I did it, and he let me watch it - many what I wouldn't give to have a copy of that bs essay!!

I watched an old episode a few years back and that show was terrible.  So, I don't wish it was still on.

Ok- enough avoiding cleaning house - my parents are coming this weekend to stay with the baby while Matt has soccer tournaments and Sis & I go to Girl Scout Camp - I have to stay in a cabin with 6 pre-teen girls -- pray for me!
