Nothing says Easter than a good old fashioned Easter Egg Hunt, right? At least, that's what this Momma thought all her kids knew about Easter. So on the way to church last week, I asked both older kids what Easter was all about. Loe & behold - BOTH nailed it - "It's when Jesus died on a cross for us", said Sis. "Yeah, Jesus came back alive after that because God used a miracle." added Brody. YES! They get it......until I hear this little nugget added, "Yeah, Mom, God uses the Force to perform miracles, right?" Uh, no son.
That afternoon, our neighborhood (have I mentioned how much I love living here?) held an Easter Egg Hunt complete with a petting zoo and balloon animals. My kids were in HEAVEN. Cause nothing says "Easter" more than a balloon dragon!
Anyway, I always get a kick out of the mad dash for eggs - as if there aren't enough in plain site- like in this picture, does he not see the dozen eggs laying around? No, he dashed right by them to search out for the best eggs.
Like these:
Look at this mad scramble.....
The older kids had to search the pool area. Two teenage girls were sunbathing (in the windy 70's- brrrr) and I just didn't like my shots of my girl searching for eggs amongst the scantily clad teenage girls. So I had her reenact it for me......
Only in Texas can you have your Easter Egg Hunt by the pool!!
Afterwards, we enjoyed the petting zoo. The kids were enamored with the animals. Bubba was fearless when it came to picking them up:
I thought roosters were supposed to be mean?
My little girl wanted to take this home...
Nothing like a sweet sleeping bunny to put you in heaven!
Happy Easter!
We hope you take the time to reflect on all that God has blessed you with, including his son, Jesus who died on that cross, took up all our burdens, so that we may have everlasting life in him.

Oh, what fun!
You've taught them well my friend and may the force be with you. That's going to be my new way of saying God Bless You! Fun-Nay!
That looks like so much fun!
Thanks for the reminder of what this holiday is really all about.
Yes, my the Force be with us all. That is great that they knew the real meaning of Easter.
Love your egg hunt pix!
How fun!! What a great mom you are teaching them the truth!
The force? That's funny. Isn't it refreshing to hear that they know the reason for Easter...I love it. And um, I need one of your neighbors to move so that I can move in...pronto!
LOVE It--your kids are adorable! I love easter egg hunts! My boys are looking forward to that too...and in the words of my 4 year old (last year)...here is what Easter is about, and this is EXACTLY what he said: "Jesus died on the cross. He rosed up.". Yup. That about sums it up for us.
Yeah, I should probably have "the force" conversation with one of my boys, too. Sheesh.
Those pictures are priceless! And so true, only in Texas can you hunt eggs by the pool. Love it. I was laughing because during Spring Break up here in North Georgia, I realized that some back home (in Corpus Christi) were probably headed to the BEACH. Yeah, right. Not here.
Looks like a great neighborhood party!
I don't meant to ignore everything you just "said", but what setting are you using on your camera, Becca? They're so bright? Are you still lightening them up a bit with photo editing software?
what a fun easter egg hunt!! Looks like everyone had a blast! I love that you guys had a petting zoo!!
It does look like you live in a great neighborhood. I love all the fun activities that everyone does together.
Have a great Easter weekend.

Only in Texas! LOL :)
I love the pictures...even the re-enacted ones! Isn't it so good to know that your kiddos know the REAL reason we celebrate Easter?! I love to hear Isaiah tell it in his 6 year old words...from the big bad Romans who arrested Jesus (that he would beat up if he were there) to the big angel that was at the empty tomb (who he wouldn't be scared of if he were there). Cute.
Love the animals! Your neighborhood sounds pretty awesome! :)
Hope you guys had a great Easter!♥
Oh, and I love the whole part about "the force"...soooo something Isaiah would say. LOL
